Valentines for Vets with Sen. Fitz-Gerald

Sen. Joan Fitzgerald joined the Democrats Work volunteers at VFW Post 501 yesterday to make Valentines for the soldiers recovering at Denver’s VA Rehabilitation Center.

This year Valentine’s Day falls during National Salute to Hospitalized Veteran’s Week, and we thought that this would be one small way we could show our gratitude for their service.

The kids reminded the grown-ups how to use scissors, glue, glitter and construction paper. By the end of the day we had a great collection of cards to brighten the rooms of the Vets.

Be a part of the great work that Democrats are doing in their communities, and join Democrats Work on Tuesday, February 19th at 5:00. We will be preparing and serving food at Denver’s Urban Peak Shelter. We just need a handful of volunteers to staff their small kitchen. Please let us know if you can participate.
